Love parts of this, despite the sadness that would be if grand architecture were everywhere replaced with push carts and vendor trucks.

The thought of keeping more commercial districts free of permanent structures is appealing…as long as, like you implied, there were still some landmarks around for us to awe at.
Government and civic buildings made of marble, shops made of tin and straw! LOL
